The Voice announces season 25 coaches lineup: Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper, John Legend and Double Chair Dan + Shay
The Voice 24 fall cycle hasn’t even begun filming yet. But now, NBC announces the coaches lineup for season 25 which will air Spring 2024.
The big news is a coaching twist. Country duo Dan + Shay aka Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, will join the panel as the first ever coaching duo on the U.S. version of The Voice. Dan + Shay previously served as Battle mentors for Blake Shelton on Season 20 in Spring 2021. The Voice previously teased the Double Chair on social media.
The new twist will feature two people taking up one seat (metaphorically!) on the coaches panel. The country duo will coach contestants as a team. Coaching duos have already been employed on The Voice franchises in other countries such as Germany.
As for the rest of the season 25 panel: Reba McEntire will return in the Spring for back to back seasons. She’s currently coaching the fall season 24 cycle.
John Legend, who is also a season 24 coach will return for the Spring. And Chance the Rapper, who made his The Voice debut on season 23 this past spring will return for another round.

Their Platinum-certified self-titled third album included global hit “Tequila” (7x platinum), multi-platform success “Speechless” (6x platinum) and #1 country song “All to Myself” (2x platinum). Dan + Shay’s mark on country music, and beyond, continues to grow with the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Good Things.”
Double the country, double the R&B
Notably, the pop chair is absent this season, although John Legend could be considered a pop artist at this point. But technically two seats are R&B (Chance and Legend) and two are country (Reba and Dan + Shay).
In the meantime, The Voice season 24 will air in the Fall on Mondays and Tuesdays with John Legend, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani and Reba McEntire as coaches. Carson Daly returns as host. It will be the first The Voice season ever without Blake Shelton sitting in a big red chair. The country singer is the last veteran to leave the show. And the way he tells it, he’s not coming back! Kelly Clarkson is also sitting out the Fall cycle just as she did last year.
