Already a signee of Capitol Records, his new deal with UMPG sees the artist uniting both recorded and songwriting efforts under the Universal Music umbrella. After winning American Idol, fame hit him quickly, which he admitted was pretty cool because he got a lot of free stuff. His favorite part about it was when he’d go to dinner and the chef would ask him to try free food. Fame has its perks, he admitted, but it was never the main goal for him. He was the kid who would practice playing guitar in his room all day. He played guitar before he learned to sing and the guitar player from AC/DC, Angus Young, was his biggest inspiration. On Monday, Johnson shared a video…and explained: “He is doing great today,” Johnson confirmed in the video. “Basically what happened, he was violently ill for three whole days and by violently ill, I mean could not eat, puke more than I’ve ever seen anybody in my life throw up.
