American Idol season 7 winner David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta had a fun reunion in Nashville yesterday. It appears that “The Davids” as they were fondly called back in 2008 when they competed on the show, did a golf outing in music city where they both live.
Sixteen year old David Archuleta and 26 year old David Cook became fast friends on the show, despite the heated competition. David A. became a fan favorite with big ballads such as John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Robbie Williams’ “Angels.”
Rocker David Cook made his mark with covers of Lionel Richie’s “Hello” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.” The two have remained good buddies over the years.
Check out the fun photo posted on David C’s social media. “This happened today,” David wrote. “So fun to catch up!”

For his part, Archie posted a hilarious Tik Tok type clip of himself approaching David C with a supposedly Ebay procured “trading card” from back in the day. Cook’s winner’s single “Time of My Life” plays in the background. Cook just lifts an eyebrow and shakes his head.

Both Davids have been making waves lately
David Cook recently released a six song EP titled The Looking Glass featuring the singles “Reds Turn Blue,” “Strange World,” and “Fire.”
Additionally, Cook will return to the road this fall with the first U.S dates of his 2021 tour beginning September 11 in Cincinnati. It will be followed by a co-headline tour of Europe with season 8 winner Kris Allen billed as “Dave & Kris Go to Europe Acoustic Tour” scheduled for October 2021. COVID-19 travel restrictions forced the duo to cancel previously schedule dates.
Need a David C. fix as soon as possible? Sunday night (July 11) the singer will perform a live stream show on Mandolin. Get your tickets HERE.
Archie takes a brave step
As far as David A. is concerned, he wrote a children’s book, titled My Little Prayer set to come out this year. The book can be pre-ordered NOW HERE to be invited to an exclusive streaming performance. The book is based on David’s song of the same name, and teaches a lesson in faith and love.
Also, recently, David took the brave step to come out as LGBTQiA in a lengthy Instagram post. He also sat for an interview with ABC News, segments which aired on Good Morning America and Nightline. As a person of faith, David still struggles with his sexuality, but he wants others in the same boat to know that they are loved and are OK exactly as they are.
David’s fellow American Idol alums wrote words of support underneath his Instagram post, including David C who wrote “Love you man, and so proud of who you are.”
