Alejandro Aranda aka Scarypoolparty drops his ambitious 21 track double album, The Act of Forgiveness today.
Produced largely by Scarypoolparty and recorded in nine days at LA’s Village Studios and Capitol Studios, the album was conceived amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The quarantine forced the American Idol 2019 runner-up to strip everything back and figure out who he is.
A culmination of all his styles and influences over the past few years, this record is a bold statement to his artistic versatility. The set spans the distance between more revealing moments, to flowing pop melodies, to heavier rock sounds. Woven throughout with the sweeping strings and the singer-songwriter’s guitar fingerpicking, this double album features his exploration of nostalgia, romance, and uncertainty.
“Along with The Act of Forgiveness album release,” wrote Alejandro on social media “I wanted to create a cinematic visual for one of the songs on the album, ‘Beach House’.” Watch it below.
Cinematic, indeed. The story Alejandro weaves in this new music video, a meditation on death and the power of eternal love, will stick with you long after it’s over.
