Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock! The couple welcomed a baby boy, Remington Alexander, into the world on April 12.

Kelly revealed in August 2015 that she was expecting her second child. After becoming emotional on stage during a performance of “Piece by Piece,” the singer suddenly announced the news on stage on stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“I was not planning on announcing this but I’m totally pregnant,” she blurted out. “I didn’t want you to think I was on pills or something! Everything is great. I haven’t vomited yet, that’s a win!” A few months later she revealed she was having a baby boy via an Instagram post that read, “In other news, River’s gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy We’re so excited!”

The birth of Remington Alexander comes a little less than 1 week after the American Idol Series Finale. Not wanting to miss the big event altogether, Kelly taped a medley of her biggest hits weeks before the event. At the time, she also appeared live on the Top 10 performance show, where she served as a guest judge and performed an incredibly emotional rendition of her single “Piece by Piece.” She released a special Idol edit of the song a few days later after the original single posted impressive sales gains.
