Kelly Clarkson announced the gender of her second child with a cute instagram post today. Alongside a photo of her daughter, River Rose, the American Idol original winner wrote, “In other news, River’s gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy We’re so excited!”
Kelly and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, became proud parents to baby girl River Rose, in June 2014.
The singer announced she was pregnant in an emotional moment during her Piece by Piece tour stop at the Staples Center in Los Angeles back in August. “I wasn’t planning on announcing this…I’m totally pregnant!” she said as the crowd cheered.
Unfortunately, Kelly had to cut her tour short. The Canadian and European concert dates were cancelled due to throat issues that will keep her from singing for the rest of the year. “I can’t wait to get healthy and see y’all back on the road soon. I hate canceling…” wrote Kelly after the news was announced in September.
Currently, Kelly is featured on the new single, “Second Hand Heart” from X Factor UK winner, Ben Haenow.
The good news: Cancelled concert dates mean more time to spend with the family. Congrats to Kelly, Brandon and little sister-to-be River Rose.
