Clues: There is one album that everyone needs…mine. She turned down a deal with David Foster. Her album bombed. She was devastated. Fans rallied around her and the set became a hit. 84 dollars.
Performance: Stronger by Britney Spears – Understandable nobody bought her album. She’s not much of a singer. She does dance though. Jenny thinks she’ll be a front runner. OK then. Clue: “I keep getting up for my family.” So, some drama in Snow Cone’s life. She’s crying! Ken guesses Avril Lavigne. Robin also guesses Avril Lavigne.
Scarab
Clues: Her dad said she’d be a huge star. Her mom was hesitant. “Most influential.” She was nominated for an Oscar. Her dad died the week prior.
Performance: Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper – Scarab sure can sing. Evidence, this pretty slowed up version of a Cyndi Lauper classic. Scarab is a likely front runner. Clue: Cookie dough. She did a lot of baking to get where she is. Ken guesses Cynthia Erivo. Uhm NOOOOOO. Jenny guesses Angela Bassett.
Handyman
Clues: He’s been known to standout. But he endured a painful accident that changed his voice for life. But his voice got people’s attention. He was everywhere. It was a blessing in the end.
Performance: Can I Kick It by a Tribe Called Quest – Can he kick it? Yes he can. So, he’s a rap singer. Put your hands up c’mon. Clue: Candy rappers. “I’ve always had a sweet flow.” Rita guesses Ice T. Ken guesses Mr. T. The audience boos.
Pugcasso
Clues: He’s from a small town. He fell in love! Until he hit the road. She joined him on the road. “Bye Bye Bye.”
Performance: Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead – Good song! Pugcasso possesses a solid pop vocal. Very dramatic. Not the best singer, but expressive and a really pretty tone. Clue: Hawaiian shirt. “I like the beach and I like cameras.” Robin guesses Jack Johnson. Ken guesses Rob Thomas (he’s been married for a long time).
Crane (WILDCARD)
Clues: She struts her way out to center stage. Japan is a clue. She’s an actress and a singer. But she’s had to work hard. She struggled with self confidence. She climbed high.
Performance: It’s Not Right But It’s OK by Whitney Houston – She’s a good singer and DANCER. They outfitted her in a costume that allows her to move. She ends in a split! This song is a little gem from Whitney. Pink ballet shoes. “I’m not the one to shy away from center stage.” Robin guesses Misty Copeland or Maya. Jenny guesses Ashanti.
