This afternoon, Glee co-creator, Ryan Murphy had, what he termed a “shippers Q&A. Oy! There isn’t a ton of new spoilers–Ryan mostly played coy. I have to keep reminding myself that Ryan’s spoilers at the beginning of a season often don’t come to fruition.
For instance, at the beginning of both S2 and S3, he promised happy storylines for Kurt. But we know how that went. Nevertheless, Ryan is trying really hard to bond with fans on twitter, as if he understands that a portion of the fan base is disgruntled for one reason or another. So I’ll lay off him for now.
Here are the key points from his Q&A, with screen shots of the actual questions and answers, for context.
- He confirmed that a key couple WILL break up, but would not confirm who. Here that noise? It’s the sound of tumblr exploding.
- Ryan reveals that Finn will finally find and follow his dreams. Something tells me it doesn’t involve the army, because Ryan indicates that Rachel and Finn will come back together at some point. I have a feeling Finn will find his way to New York sooner rather than later. I bet he never really joined the Army.
- Artie will get a girlfriend, and it will be a surprise to fans.
- The entire gang will be back together at Thanksgiving. Ryan sees Quinn and Puck coming back together every Turkey day. There will also be a Glee club reunion in episode 4 that will make our “heads explode.”
- The long distance couples will keep in touch via TWITTER as well as email, skype and phone calls.
- Ryan called Thanksgiving “Faberry Heaven”.
- Finchel and Brittana will get “an equal number of kisses” in an episode. Is this supposed to be a “very special episode”? Just treat the LGBT couples normally, Ryan. The goal is to get to the place where same sex kissing isn’t treated like some big fricking event.
- By the way, remember the equality advocates that brought us the box scene? Ryan acknowledged them in a tweet, “I love The Glee Equality Project. Showrunners everywhere should read their manifesto. Thank you, Gleeks, for the insight. Noted.” He had initially been a little pissy in response to their complaints.
- No mention of Klaine for the “equal kissing” episode. However, he did hint they would get a happy ending. (I’ll believe it when I see it). When a fan suggested Kurt and Blaine reenact the “kissing in the rain” scene from The Notebook, Ryan said he’d never thought of doing that, but now he might. Also, he confirmed there would be Klaine duets.
- The Warblers will make a return, but no word on whether Sebastian will be back. It was reported that FOX was negotiating with Grant Gustin to bring him back.
