Backstreet Boy AJ McLean rumored to join Dancing with the Stars
Rumor has it that Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean will appear on season 29 of Dancing with the Stars. This, comes on the heels of ABC revealing Artem Chigvintsev as the 15th pro to join the upcoming season.
Show sources confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the boy band member will join former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe as a celebrity cast member when the show premieres on Monday September 14. ABC will reveal all cast members on Good Morning America Wednesday September 2.
AJ hinted at joining the cast on Instagram, showing off the results of a 5 month long diet and fitness regime.
“I’m on a very strict diet, grain-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, no sodas of any kind, and completely sober for almost nine months,” he revealed. “This amazing, but rigorous, workout is all due to my amazing trainer, Mr. Bobby Strong. He’s been a huge asset in my transformation, trying to get myself prepared and ready for what’s to come in the next few weeks.”

Dancing With the Stars will return to ABC after a big shakeup that replaced longtime hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews with Top Model and former America’s Got Talent host, Tyra Banks. She’ll also serve as an executive producer. The dancers will follow strict COVID-19 protocols, quarantining together during the season. Three married pro-couples will have to live apart from their partners during the run of the show.
