Happy Birthday Carrie Underwood. The American Idol season 4 winner turns 40 today. To celebrate her birthday, the singer released a brand new song titled, “Out of that Truck.” In a behind the scenes video posted to Instagram she said, “Had some fun in the studio recently and for my birthday, I wanted to share my new song ‘Out of That Truck’ with all of you!”
“It was inevitable, I guess. I knew someday I’d have a truck song and I wasn’t wrecking it,” she joked about the tune, penned by Carrie, David Garcia and Lydia Vaughn, alluding to her baseball bat wielding ways in “Before he Cheats”, “It was like having this memory, a nostalgic kind of song, where it’s like you kind of can’t get over somebody, but it’s because of all the physical marks that you left in a space, being the truck,” she said, adding that some of those physical marks are “nail polish on the tailgate” and “dings on the door.”
Currently, Carrie is on the second leg of her Denim & Rhinestones tour with Jimmie Allen as the opening act. The singer released the album of the same name last year.
“I hope when fans listen to the album, Denim & Rhinestones, that they just feel happy,” Carrie said at the time. ” When we set out to make this entire project, I walked in the writing room with my co-producer David (Garcia), and he’s like, ‘Well, what are we doing? What do you want to do?’” Carrie said in a press statement. “And I said, I just want to have fun. I feel like over the past couple of years, everybody’s been a little cooped up and just need some fun in their lives.”
