America’s Got Talent season 20 continues on Tuesday (June 10) with 11 more acts, including Urban Theory, an Italian dance crewe. NBC recently dropped a preview of their AGT performance, which includes unique choreography and visuals.
Not meant to be viewed at stage level, the dancers create mesmerising set pieces meant to be watched on a video screen. The group utilizes movement, music, lighting and costuming in a display of colorful choreography.
In the clip, the dancers, dressed in black and white outfits wearing colorful black and red gloves, create kaleidoscope patterns, using their arms, hands and legs to make colorful patterns. The dancers finish with a dimmed stage, colorful handheld lights that result in a cool firefly effect.
Urban Theory boasts millions of social media followers along with corporate collaborations and high profile appearances.
Only the performance is featured in the clip, but throughout the routine, the panel–Howie Mandel, Mel B., Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, and host Terry Crews seem delighted by the group’s creativity and precision. “Seriously!” Simon exclaims as the group breaks out the lights.
Urban Theory boasts millions of followers across TikTok, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. The group has over 21.3M followers on TikTok alone. Single clips often go viral, garnering millions of views. According to the group’s bio, they have appeared on Italia’s Got Talent (where they earned a Golden Buzzer), The Tonight Show, Eurovision Song Contest and more.
They have collaborated with corporate brands like Samsung, Coca-Cola, Disney and Sony Music. They have also taken part in music videos, commercials, and multimedia productions. For instance, the group created customized shows for the premieres of the Disney films Shang-Chi and Avatar 2.
