America’s Got Talent 2025 Auditions 3 Recap Live Blog (Videos)

America’s Got Talent continues with Auditions 3 tonight (June 10) as Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and the returning Mel B. take their seats on the panel for the talent show’s 20th season. Terry Crews once again serves as host

The Golden Buzzers are back, of course. All the panelists and Terry can award two buzzers each to acts they feel should advance straight to the live shows. That is 10 buzzers total.

Julia and Dmytro Turkeev – Aerialists

The couple are married and have two daughters who are big AGT fans. The two begin their acrobatic act in an actual rain shower. They are soaked as they hang on to silks. The two tumble dangerously in the air as their young daughters watch! The rain show adds a romantic element, as well as danger–there exists a bigger chance they could slip and fall. The routine ends with Julia hanging precariously off a strap as the two lower to the ground, in a kiss.

“What you did was amazing,” said Howie. “Really dangerous.” Mel B. observes that couples do that kind of act mostly because they trust each other. “You guys didn’t miss a beat,” said Sofia. Simon calls the act “genuinely breathtaking.” The young children join their parents on stage as the panel enthusiastically gives them yeses. – 4 yeses

Osaka Philharmonic

The musical group came to AGT straight from Japan. The leader insists the group will break up if they do not win. OK then. I smelled joke act vibes off these guys, despite their instrument cases and tuxedos. And indeed, they strip off to their skin and the leader uses a dry ice stick to “play” the group’s nipples. Weird. He “performs” Ode to Joy. Mel B. is creeped out and hits her X buzzer.

Simon doesn’t understand how Mel could buzz them. Because they sucked? The audience boos her. Sofia insists, “They tricked me!” Howie, of course, loved it. Simon volunteers to freeze his own nipples. And that deserves a commercial break. Simon won’t take his shirt off, but he does lift it up. Then, he plays a few nipples himself. Mel takes her X back and will say yes if Simon is incorporated into the act – 4 yeses

Charity Lockhart – Singer – Mel B. Golden Buzzer

Charity is almost 50 years old. She loves to sing and explains that she supported her kids by singing in clubs while they were homeless. After winning a singing contest, they were able to rent an apartment.

She performs a jazzy, a cappella rendition of “Over the Rainbow.” She oversings. Simon stops her. “I like you, but it just wasn’t working for me.” COMMERCIAL BREAK. She needed music behind her. Her vocals are stylish, but sounded screechy. The nervous oversinging needs to go. After the break, Simon asks for another song. She sings “Golden Slumbers” by the Beatles. And this time, she performs with piano accompaniment, and REVERB on the mic. This feels so set up. She’s a good singer–albeit with a tendency to oversing–with a unique tone and phrasing. No need for the fake dramatics.

“This is what a great audition is all about,” says Simon. Oh boy. Mel’s on her feet. You know what that means. Mel hits her Golden Buzzer. Producers really overdid the framing on this one.

Spaceman Bob

Spaceman Bob is a joke act, pretty apparent when he took the stage claiming to be an alien. He raps badly and strips down to fluorescent t shirt and shorts. Every panelist buzzed him, except for Simon, who appears to be a fan. OK. The crowd loves him. Simon jokingly compared Bob to Mozart. “He made me laugh.” Even Howie, who usually loves the joke acts, didn’t care for it. He compares Bob to a lame birthday party act. BOB HAS A GIRLFRIEND! – 3 nos. Simon is a fan

Urban Theory – Dance Group

NBC previewed this act last week! The dance crewe from Italy creates dance routines made for the video age. Movement, colorful, clothing, music and electronics are blended together to create mesmerizing human kaleidoscopes. While some acts are probably better in person, Urban Theory is made for the screens.

Simon calls them “incredible.” They’ve been watching AGT since they were kids. Howie thinks they were just OK. “It didn’t blow me away.” Mel agrees with Howie. “You nearly had me, but not quite. I wanted to feel more personality.” The crowd boos. “It was spectacular!” Sofia insists. “I’ve never seen anything like this.” Simon says, “This is exactly what we have been looking for. Howie says No. Sofia says Yes. Simon says yes. Mel B says no. Simon begs Howie to change his vote as the audience chants. And he gives in. Simon goes back stage to reassure them. Actually, I’m Team Simon. – 3 yeses, Mel says no.

Benjamin Hightower – Singer

Benjamin left the air force after 7 years to follow his musical dreams. NBC previewed this audition earlier today. His day job is in consulting while he gigs at night.

Benjamin’s mother watches from the audience as he sits at the keyboards to sing a cover of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.” He doesn’t change the pronouns. His tone is high and sweet and full of personality. Physically, he’s a dead ringer for Benson Boone. The moustache curly hair look has turned into a thing. Benjamin brings a ton of energy and joy to the stage. Simon calls him “likable” and indeed he is.

Howie loves the original but also loves Benjamin’s version. Sofia loved it. “This is what you are supposed to be doing.” Mel B. appreciates his raspy vibrato. She calls him “fire.” Simon appreciates that he’s not boring or ordinary. “I love your version.” He adds, “You’ve got a great heart.” – 4 yeses

Boston Dynamics – ROBOTS!

I’ve seen these robots on Youtube. The company rep describes their creations as something new, but Boston Dynamics has been around for years. The robots I’ve seen on line are pretty cool. But can they be turned into an entertaining act?

The robots, that resemble dogs, are dancing around to “Don’t Stop Me Now.” Pretty fun! Oh noes. One of the robots keeled over before the routine ended. Simon appreciates that one of them “died.” But then it miraculously came back to life! I wonder if that was on purpose. Howie says, “This is something we have never seen on this stage.” Ha ha. One of the robots shakes hands with Terry – 4 yeses

Cyril – Magician

Cyril was born in the US, but moved to Japan at 15 years of age. He calls Howie up on stage to help him with a trick that involves wooden chopsticks. It’s close-up magic. And despite being VERY close to the action, Howie is still astounded by Cyril’s incredible slight of hand that also involves cards.

However, Simon is annoyed that the act took longer than he believes it should have. His tricks are impressive, but annoying Simon is not a great idea. Simon and Mel buzzed him. The crowd boos. Mel B. agrees with Simon, “It took too long.” Simon says no. Mel’s daughter, in the audience, convinces her to say yes – 3 yeses, Simon says no.

Maceo Harrison – Dancer

Maceo is from Baltimore but now lives in Savannah. He’s full of energy as he runs to the back of the auditorium in order to dramatically make his way down the aisle. He comes in like a wrecking ball to the Miley Cyrus song. It ends abruptly. He’s not a good hip hop dancer, but he’s full of heart and verve. Gotta give him that.

Sofia calls it “confusing.” Mel B. respects him and wants more. Simon agrees. Sofia asks him to do more and he tumbles. The most impressive move of the night. 4 yeses

Leo High School Choir

It’s an all-guys choir from a Chicago Catholic high school. Ha ha. They are talking about the 1 million dollar prize covering their college educations. Too bad it’s a 40 year annuity. So sad for them.

For a high school choir they are pretty solid. They sing a fair amount in unison. One of the singers comes out front to rap. The choreography is decent. The room is on their feet by the end. “That was very powerful,” says Simon. It felt like an original song to Mel B. Sofia calls it “beautiful.” Simon can imagine the act as a Broadway show. – 4 yeses

Another act, Kennedy and Jay, has photos up on the NBC site, but their audition was cut. So sad for them. Maybe they’ll show up another week. Also, there was a bit with a computer science guy who had a robot named Pedro (or something like that.) After his robot dies, the floor manager had to cut his act. Guess it’s all part of the new format, watching acts get cut before they even take the stage.
