Uh oh. The Voice’s newest coach, Camila Cabello revealed on social media Tuesday (July 19) that she has contracted Covid-19 ahead of next week’s The Voice Battle Round tapings.
The former Fifth Harmony singer and X Factor USA alum posted a video to Tik Tok announcing “I got the ‘Rona.” She lip syncs to to Pitbull’s “Watagatapitusberry (Remix” from her bed, surrounded by cold medicines. While the Netflix app plays through a slideshow on Camila’s television behind her, she shows off a bag of Halls cough drops, a package of menthol vapor chest rub, bottles of DayQuil and “Cold, Flu & Sore Throat” syrups and a television remote in the clip.

The Voice 22 Battle Round tapings begin July 27
Rest up Camila! Because y’all are scheduled to join Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and John Legend on the coaches panel, beginning July 27 to tape the Battle Rounds. That’s one week away, sis. Will the tapings have to be postponed? Will another superstar artist sit in for her? Only daily Covid tests will answer that question for sure.
Also, will Camila’s Covid diagnosis possibly interfere with the Battle Round mentor tapings? Sometimes those sessions are filmed pretty well in advance. But if they were scheduled for this week? Oops. During the Season 21 Battles, Kelsea Ballerini sat in for an ailing Kelly Clarkson. It would be a shame if new coach Camila needed another artist to sit in for her. But, as they say, the show must go on…
The Battle Rounds are scheduled to tape on July 27 at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm (SOLD OUT!) and July 28, also at 9:30 and 2:30. The Knockout round tapings, which follow the Battles are scheduled for August 9 at 9:30 and 2:30.
Meanwhile, ANY audience member must have a negative Covid test result no more than two days prior to the event. Fingers crossed that things will be looking good for Camila on July 25, amiright people? The studio audience also has to be fully vaccinated and must wear appropriate face coverings (silk mask, knit masks, and gaiter-style masks are not permitted) at all times unless otherwise instructed by a crew member. Also, they gotta stay 6 feet away from crew members at all times.
The Voice taped season 22 Blind Auditions back in June. Season 22 premieres on NBC Monday September 19 at 8 pm.
