While America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum got jiggy with it over Halloween, she also made space in her calendar to tape episodes of America’s Got Talent: All Stars.
America’s Got Talent: All Stars ends taping on November 7
Heidi, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell sit on the judges panel. Terry Crews serves as host. Fourth AGT judge Sofia Vergara is not involved in All-Stars. Maybe her schedule is packed. Or perhaps tight NBC budges kept Sofia off the panedl. In any case, the show taped through October and appears to be finishing up on Sunday, November 6, according to On Camera Audiences. The limited series will be taped from beginning to end with no live shows and will air in 2023–likely before The Voice 23 kicks off in February.
Simon’s social media presence is limited. Not so Howie and Heidi who posted a bunch of vids and pics from the CBS Studios in Hollywood over the past couple of days.
NBC describes AGT: All Stars as “a new extension of the powerhouse hit series featuring winners, finalists, fan favorites and viral sensations from previous seasons of America’s Got Talent and “Got Talent” franchises around the world.” The network touts it as a new format. But it sounds very similar to America’s Got Talent: The Champions which aired for two seasons in 2019 and 2020. The contestants, many familiar acts, will compete for “The ultimate All-Star title,” according NBC PR.
AGT: Extreme is never coming back
NBC skipped a winter AGT spinoff in 2021 during the COVID pandemic. But in 2022 they went with America’s Got Talent: Extreme, a series full of danger acts competing for the ultimate prize. Unfortunately, the format proved to be so dangerous, a contestant, Jonathan Goodwin had a terrible accident while rehearsing an escape stunt, and ended up paralyzed from the waist down. The network aired a truncated season featuring Nikki Bella and Travis Pastrana as judges. However, Simon has confirmed that the format is canceled.
As far as America’s Got Talent, regular flavor is concerned, Open Calls for the summer series began on November 4 and will continue on the 18th, December 3 and 15th. Sign up at AGTAuditions.com.
