America’s Got Talent Semifinal 1 Results are revealed TONIGHT. Production note! Simon Cowell broke his back last month, and is recovering at home. Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum will carry on without him. Hosted by Terry Crews.

Only FIVE acts will advance to the FINALE. But you can save your favorite act via the Dunkin’ Save. Here’s how to vote:

Poll results: Your favorite act: Kid singer Roberta Battaglia is the clear favorite with 21.43% of the vote. REEEECAAAPPP. The episode kicked off with Heidi painting for some reason. One thing that never changes even through a pandemic: Results shows are full. of. filler.

Time for the Dunkin Save. Three acts will go straight through Terry announces the 4th, 5th and 6th place finishers in no particular order: Adam Silva, Archie Williams and Malik Dope. OK really surprised Archie is in danger. He didn’t deliver a great performance last night, but he seemed to be a favorite anyway. Vote via the AGT App or at NBC.com/DunkinSave.

Results: Spyros Bros and Dance Town Family step forward. The first act going into the finals is…NONE OF YOU. Ohhhh. That was MEAN SO MEAN. Howie urges them not to give up. “This is only the beginning of your journey.

Results: Broken Roots and Double Dragon step forward. The first act going into the finals is…Broken Roots! Double Dragon is eliminated. Eh. I’m a little surprised–last night’s performance was weak. But maybe not too surprised. Broken Roots is the kind of act middle America loves.

Results: Brandon Leake and Thomas Day step forward. Hah Thomas must know his journey is over. Taking the second spot in the finals is…Brandon Leake!

Next, it’s one of my favorite AGT magicians, Piff the Magic Dragon. Since competing in AGT, Piff has been working in Las Vegas. But not during the pandemic! David Copperfield makes a cameo during this bit. Hate to say, it was a little lame.

Results: Shaquira McGrath and Roberta Battaglia remain. Welp. It’s obvious where this is going. The act taking the last spot in the finals is…Roberta Battaglia. She’s crying her eyes out.

Next last season’s Ndlovu Youth Choir sings Jackie Wilson’s “Higher and Higher.” The performance was filmed in the choir’s native Africa. Easily my favorite AGT choir. And I mostly don’t like the choirs. The video was filmed in a nature reserve close to where they live. They had to be on the watchout for crocodiles.

So, these old lady twins sit in the AGT audience every week. SURE THEY AREN’T PLANTS. The judges surprise them at home during a watch party. DON’T GIVE THEM COVID GUYS. ALL THAT LAUGHING IS SPREADING GERMS. WHERE ARE THE MASKS.

Time to reveal the Dunkin’ Save winner: The 4th act going into the finals is…Alan Silva! Wow. Not Archie. Huh. Now the judges will save a contestant.

Damn. I had Archie down as a possible winner. But he needed the judges to save him tonight. He did perform poorly last night. But for acts with fans, it usually doesn’t matter at this point in the competition. Howie mentioned that seeing his daughter’s photo through him off…or something. The problem is, Archie sings with a lot of emotion, but he’s not a great technical singer. Also, I wonder if the souring on Archie is conservatives in the AGT audience turned off by Black Lives Matter. Hm.
