X Factor UK runners-up Reggie N Bollie have signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco Music. The duo, members of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s team, lost to 17 year old Louisa Johnson in the December finale.
“We are so happy to be joining the Syco Music family and releasing our record with them,” said Reggie and Bollie in a statement. “It is, literally, a dream come true for us to now do what we love for a living. We promise to work hard and show you all what Reggie and Bollie are made of. Here’s to a fun 2016.”
The duo will release their debut album later this year.
Reggie N Bollie, consisting of Ghanaians Reggie Zippy and Bollie Babeface, originally auditioned as Menn on Poinnt. All of the groups on Cheryl’s team were christened with new names. The duo became Reggie N Bollie.
In the final, Reggie N Bollie performed their mash-up rendition of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” and Reel 2 Real’s “I Like To Move It.” However, it was Louisa who prevailed as the winner in the end. Unfortunately, her winner’s single, Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young,” didn’t achieve a Christmas week #1 and was the lowest selling winner’s single in the show’s history. Syco plans to press on with a debut album from the winner, nevertheless.
The duo are also set to perform, along with Louisa and other finalists, in the 25-date UK X Factor arena tour, beginning in Aberdeen in February 2016.
Syco also counts other X Factor alums on their roster, including Little Mix, One Direction and Ella Henderson.
