CBS announced today a slate of upcoming program premieres for September and October. The series include a mix of original news and alternative programming, and two scripted dramas and one comedy series making their broadcast network debuts.
Production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic means the networks will be shifting around their schedules until the very last minute.
“This is hardly a traditional fall season, but we are prepared with a strong slate of original content while our regular scripted series begin production,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “Based on our current timeline, we hope to start rolling out our previously announced fall series as they become available in November.”

For instance, Survivor was originally on the CBS schedule for fall. But because the network has been unable to reschedule filming for the series in Fiji, the veteran competition is tentatively on the mid-season schedule.
Meanwhile, The Amazing Race halted production on season 33 last spring, but season 32 was already in the can. The series will premiere in October.
The network is so desperate for content, that it’s airing season 1 of the CBS All Access series Star Trek: Discovery, and the streaming series, One Day at a Time, and Manhunt: Deadly Games. Fans of NCIS, Young Sheldon, et al will just have to wait a little longer for their favs to return.
