Heads up! CBS is shuffling its summer schedule. The Amazing Race season 32 has been moved up to a later, yet undisclosed date. It is the last season of the show in the can. Because of coronavirus concerns, season 33 filming has been postponed indefinitely. The Amazing Race season 32 was originally set to premiere on May 20.
“Program schedule update: The season premiere of The #AmazingRace, originally announced for May 20, will be scheduled later in 2020,” The network announced on Twitter, “Stay tuned for updates.”

In its place, CBS has added two unscripted series to its summer schedule.
The new series are Game On, produced by Late Late Show host James Corden, which premieres May 20, and on July 8 comes Tough as Nails, hosted and executive produced by The Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan. The CBS shows Big Brother and the second season of Love Island, are also off the summer schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic.
CBS is holding The Amazing Race to be used as a schedule plug if the fall and winter seasons need new content. The show has aired in many time periods and seasons over the twenty years its been on the air. Considering the network has no idea when season 34 and beyond will be available, it makes sense to hold on to the season for a bit.
One thing is for sure: At this moment, with movie and TV production halted indefinitely, consider every schedule announcement tentative. The TV schedule will remain one big question mark until the pandemic is over.
