As part of the 51st Annual CMA Awards broadcast on ABC Wednesday night (Nov 8), Walmart brought together a group of country music fans at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville to enjoy a rendition of the 1960’s The Youngbloods classic “Get Together.”
Performing the song were Vocal Duo of the Year nominee, Dan + Shay, with New Artist of The Year nominee, and American Idol 10 alum, Lauren Alaina (Neither won in their category. Brothers Osborne and Jon Pardi nabbed the honors, respectively).

The original song is featured in one of Walmart’s recent advertising spots, which “promotes the importance of people from all walks of life coming together in the spirit of inclusiveness and kindness.” Love and peace. Groovy good times. And buy your stuff at Walmart, folks.
But I digress! Watch the performance here.

American Idol 6 singer and DWTS Kellie Pickler and her Picker & Ben co-host, Ben Aaron introduced them. It’s not shown in the video. But here’s Kellie wishing Lauren a happy birthday. (Yes. Wednesday was her birthday!)
