The Voice Live Blog: Top 5 Performances (Semifinals)

It’s a fight to the finish! After last night’s The Voice Top 5 performance show, my predictions totally changed! Chris Jamison is peaking at just the right time, and giving frontrunners, Craig Wayne Boyd and Matt McAndrew a run for their money. Join Kelly tonight, when she live blogs The Voice wildcard show, at 8/7c PM.

iTunes Ranking – As of 12:00 pm ET

The final iTunes numbers for voting purposes are in. While Craig and Matt managed to hit the Top 5, Chris landed TWO songs in the Top 10! That means ALL OF HIS iTunes votes will be multiplied by 10. I suspect, for that reason, he ultimately wins the iTunes race. I knew it was smart for Craig to pull out the religion card at this point of the game. His rendition of the beloved hymn, “Old Rugged Cross” soared all the way to #2. Wow.

I’m surprised Damien’s “She’s Out of My Life” didn’t chart higher. I suspect it’s because the performance came early in the show. Look at Taylor charting decently based off of two poor performances–higher than Craig’s “Workin’ Man’s Blues” which was a solid performance. The dude has people. Which is why I think the wildcard round is going to be a joke.

2. Craig Wayne Boyd – The Old Rugged Cross
5. Matt McAndrew – Make it Rain
6. Chris Jamison – When I Was Your Man
10. Chris Jamison – Sugar
15. Matt McAndrew – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
18. Taylor John Williams – Falling Slowly
23. Craig Wayne Boyd – Workin Man’s Blues
26. Damien – She’s Out of My Life
27. Taylor John Williams – Blank Space
58. Damien – I Don’t Want to Wait

The Voice 7 – Top 5 – Favorite Performance

Again, Taylor scores higher than Craig’s second song. He’s definitely got people. But, with Chris earning the double multiplier in iTunes, Taylor may have a hard time knocking him out, despite having a more established fan base.

  1. Chris Jamison – Team Adam – When I Was Your Man 40.41%
  2. Matt McAndrew – Team Adam – Make it Rain 23.38%
  3. Craig Wayne Boyd – Team Blake – Old Rugged Cross 19.31%
  4. Chris Jamison – Team Adam – Sugar 4.45%
  5. Taylor John Williams – Team Gwen – Falling Slowly 4.32%
  6. Taylor John Williams – Team Gwen – Blank Space 2.8%
  7. Matt McAndrew – Team Adam – I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For 2.16%
  8. Damien – Team Adam – She’s Out of My Life 2.03%
  9. Craig Wayne Boyd – Team Blake – Workin Man’s Blues 1.02%
  10. Damien – Team Adam – I Don’t Want to Wait 0%

The Voice 7 – Top 5 – Favorite Contestant

I think Craig and Matt probably earned more votes, if the multipliers are taken out of the equation. But look how close Chris and Matt are in our poll!

  1. Chris Jamison – Team Adam 34.41%
  2. Matt McAndrew – Team Adam 32.86%
  3. Craig Wayne Boyd – Team Blake 21.13%
  4. Taylor John Williams – Team Gwen 9.66%
  5. Damien – Team Adam 1.93%

The Voice 7 – Top 5 – Who SHOULD Go Home?

Damien and Taylor get the bulk of the votes in both elimination polls. We’ll see later how it shakes out!

  1. Damien – Team Adam 42.2%
  2. Taylor John Williams – Team Gwen 40.76%
  3. Craig Wayne Boyd – Team Blake 10.09%
  4. Chris Jamison – Team Adam 5.11%
  5. Matt McAndrew – Team Adam 1.83%

The Voice 7 – Top 5 – Who WILL Go Home?

  1. Damien – Team Adam 62.09%
  2. Taylor John Williams – Team Gwen 30.43%
  3. Chris Jamison – Team Adam 3.13%
  4. Craig Wayne Boyd – Team Blake 3.13%
  5. Matt McAndrew – Team Adam 1.22%

Prediction: Damien and Taylor John Williams are eliminated. I suspect Taylor’s fans will go into overdrive to vote him right back into the final. But I want to wait until after tonight’s performances to make my final prediction. If Taylor and/or Damien perform early, it could hurt their chances. The producers might want a girl in the finale, in which case, they’ll give someone like DaNica the pimp spot.
