After winning The Voice season 8 in 2015 at the tender age of 16, singer-songwriter Sawyer Fredericks has been pursuing a career as an independent artist.
With the help of Patreon, a web platform that connects fans and creators, the young folk musician, who lives on the family farm outside of Albany New York, has released “Lies You Tell,” his first video from his 2020 album, “Flowers For You.”
“Thanks to the amazing support from my Patreon Patrons,” Sawyer posts on Youtube, “I offer you “Lies You Tell,” and the first official music video from my new album, Flowers For You.” The singer continues, “It was quite a challenge creating a quality music video during a pandemic, with 3 of the musicians quarantined across the country.”
However, Sawyer had shot some footage before the COVID-19 shutdown. ” Fortunately, we already had pre-pandemic behind the scenes studio footage of Gannon, Sav, and Katie working on the string arrangements in the song.” Sawyer added, “But no footage of Chris and Jerome recording their parts. With careful social distancing, masks, lots of hand sanitizer, staging help from Ariel and some clever framing and editing by Lindsey, we were able to recreate the rest.”
Sawyer is happy with the results, “In the end it feels like we were all together, at our studio home, Dreamland Recording Studios. I hope you all enjoy this little glimpse of the magic. Stay safe and Be Well!”
