On the other hand, Ellen watched Cam on The Voice, and didn’t put two and two together. She said to herself, watching grown-up Cam, “Who is this guy? He’s amazing!”

As far as winning the show, Cam explained that he viewed his The Voice experience as “a playground to  explore and grow and expound on my creativity.” He described his fellow Voice contestants as “amazing artists” that have “changed my life in so many ways.” He came away from The Voice with “a huge family…it’s been life changing.”

He calls his partnership with coach Blake Shelton “unlikely” but that’s what “made it that much more beautiful too, because we are such different people but very similar as well at the core. ” For instance Blake is both “chill” and “down to earth.” Qualities that Cam really appreciates.

Cam really wants to star in a live action production of The Wiz

Ellen wondered who Cam would like to work with now that the show is over. “Beyonce is definitely on my list,” Cam added, “You got Jay-Z, Missy Elliott. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Jayna Brown, she’s a phenomenal artist.”

But most of all, Cam would love to star in a live action production of The Wiz. The 7os film starred Diana Ross as Dorothy and Michael Jackson playing the Scarecrow. “I would love to be the Scarecrow,” Cam revealed “[and] have Jayna Brown possibly as Dorothy. (Fun fact: Jayna competed on America’s Got Talent season 11) Missy Elliott in that joint.” Cam enthused, “It’s gonna be crazy. Let’s make that happen!”

After the commercial break, Cam performed Hozier’s “Take Me to Church,” the song he performed for The Playoffs round.
