NBC posted a “Breakdown” of how The Voice season 22 will work, that includes the number of episodes for each round. The full season 22 series will last 13 weeks.

The Blind Auditions will last 7 episodes, while the Battle Rounds will comprise 6 episodes. The Knockouts will need only 3 episodes. The live shows will last 10 episodes, or 5 weeks.

UPDATE: The Battle Rounds will end on October 25 after FIVE episodes. The Knockouts begin on October 31.

We took a stab at putting together a full schedule. The first four episodes (so far) are confirmed. The rest are tentative. As NBC confirms episodes, we’ll remove the TBA and add more details. The live shows in particular will have more information such as how many artists are performing that week, etc.

The Voice 22 format is the same as in the past EXCEPT:

Not confirmed yet by NBC, but reliable spoilers have confirmed that the Blind Auditions will yield a Top 56. The Battle Rounds will end with a Top 36, while the Knockouts will produce a Top 16. Previously, teams were Top 48, Top 32, Top 20.

The Voice 22 Contestant List – Meet the Artists! (Photos, Videos)

CONFIRMED by NBC, and a major format change: In the Knockouts, the coaches will pick THREE artists instead of TWO who will perform songs of their own choosing. The coach will then choose one artist to move on to the Live Shows. Each coach gets a steal. For the first time in many seasons, there will be no celebrity mega advisor to help coach the artists.

Battle Rounds remain the same

However, The Battle Rounds will feature advisors for each coach: Blake Shelton picked Jimmie Allen, Gwen Stefani brought Sean Paul on board, John Legend teamed up with Jazmine Sullivan while Camila Cabello chose Charlie Puth. Each coach can steal an eliminated artist from another team, and save one member of their own team.

In the Blind Auditions, each coach has one block, which allows them to keep another coach from turning for an artist.

Number of episodes compared to The Voice season 21

With a super-sized contestant list, how many auditions will be edited down to a montage? NBC scheduled an extra Blind Audition episode and TWO more Battle Round episodes compared to last season. However, because the Knockouts pit 3 contestants instead two against each other, there are only three Knockouts compared to four last season.
