After Jordan Smith won The Voice season 9 in in the fall of 2015, he rushed out an album in March 2016. That kind of deadline doesn’t offer much time to A&R original songs. Subsequently, the tracklist of the singer’s debut set, Something Beautiful, was mostly covers.
But now, with the NBC Olympics fast approaching, the singer is releasing a Deluxe version of his album on July 29 which includes three new originals: “Leave a Little Light On,” “Strangers” and “Starlights.”
Plus, the singer’s cover of Onerepublic’s “I Lived” which will be used by NBC for its Olympic coverage is also included in the new edition. The promo will undoubtedly be part of The Voice 11, which will premiere after the Rio Olympics Closing ceremony with a special 30 minute Blind Audition episode.
Meanwhile, Jordan has had a busy summer. He went on tour in June and married his long-time girlfriend Kristen Denny in July.
