On tonight’s The Voice 9 premiere, a “mystery singer” performs Sia’s Chandelier. The viewers won’t find out what the singer looks like until all four coaches have turned their chairs. It’s allowing the audience to experience the “surprise” of The Voice from the coaches point of view.
Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton sure are surprised as their chairs turn. We even get a leg-kick from Gwen. Adam, no stranger to over statement, declares the singer, “The most important person that’s ever been on the show. OK then! Gwen calls it trippy, while Pharrell calls all the “individuality” on stage “cool.” Blake cuts right to the chase, “I think I’m the best coach for you…”

If I were to guess without know, I’d say the singer was a young black male. Actually, I do know who the person is. Oops.
