The Voice 21 Recap: Top 8 Semi-Final Performances (Videos)

Here is how it will work: The Top 4 acts will be declared safe. After, the remaining 4 contestants will compete in an Instant Save. The highest vote getter joins the Top 4 and the Final 5 advances to next week’s finale.

iTunes Sales

Downloads are barely a thing. But just for fun, let’s see how the acts; studio recordings fared on iTunes.  Every artist charted in the Top 200…except for Lana Scott. Every studio performance from GNT charted on iTunes last night, including their current cover of Joni Mitchell’s “River” which earned them the No. 1 spot.

1. Girl Named Tom – River
18 Wendy Moten – You’re All I Need to Get By
63. Hailey Mia – Someone You Loved
69. Girl Named Tom – Dust in the Wind
94. Paris Winningham – Close the Door
102. Joshua Vacanti – Ashes
110. Jershika Maple – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me
112. Girl Named Tom – Viva La Vida

Your The Voice 21 Top 13 Poll Results

You all have been voting in our POLLS since last night. Let’s see your results, and then I’ll make a prediction.

The Voice 21: Favorite Top 8 PERFORMANCE

Girl Named Tom earned a whopping 40% of your vote. Wendy Moten earned about half that percentage for her Motown cover.

  1. Girl Named Tom – River by Joni Mitchell – Team Kelly – 40.62%
  2. Wendy Moten – You’re All I Need to Get By by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Team Blake – 22.58%
  3. Hailey Mia – Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi – Team Kelly – 11.14%
  4. Joshua Vacanti – Ashes by Celine Dion – Team Legend – 8.94%
  5. Jershika Maple – Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me by Elton John – Team Legend – 6.89%
  6. Paris Winningham – Close the Door by Teddy Pendergrass – Team Blake – 4.40%
  7. Lana Scott – Something in the Water by Carrie Underwood – Team Blake – 2.93%
  8. Jim & Sasha Allen – Mrs Robinson by Simon & Garfunkel – Team Ariana – 2.49%

The Voice 21: Favorite Top 8 Duet

Probably unpopular opinion: Joshua and Jershika had the best duet of the night. Jershika is likely leaving the competition this week. She will go out on a high note.

  1. Girl Named Tom & Hailey Mia – Hold on by Wilson Phillips – 40.28%
  2. Wendy Moten & Paris Winningham – Change the World by Eric Clapton – 28.14%
  3. Joshua Vacanti & Jershika Maple – Hand in My Pocket by Alanis Morissette – 26.52%
  4. Lana Scott & Jim & Sasha Allen – Hold My Hand by Hootie and the Blowfish – 5.06%

The Voice 21: Which Three Acts SHOULD Go Home?

This list seems reasonable. Lana Scott has floated through the lives as the only country singer in the Top 13. She and Jim & Sasha Allen had the weakest performances of the night. Jershika Maple doesn’t deserve to go home, but considering the competition, it’s fair that she leaves.

  1. Jim & Sasha Allen – Team Ariana – 32.84%
  2. Lana Scott – Team Blake – 22.67%
  3. Jershika Maple – Team Legend – 12.79%
  4. Paris Winningham – Team Blake – 11.58%
  5. Joshua Vacanti – Team Legend – 9.52%
  6. Hailey Mia – Team Kelly – 6.18%
  7. Wendy Moten – Team Blake – 2.91%
  8. Girl Named Tom – Team Kelly – 1.49%

The Voice 21: Which Three Acts WILL Go Home?

Over 50% believe Jim & Sasha and Jershika Maple will leave the competition tonight. Lana Scott and Paris Winningham are close.

  1. Jim & Sasha Allen – Team Ariana – 29.04%
  2. Jershika Maple – Team Legend – 23.84%
  3. Lana Scott – Team Blake – 17.57%
  4. Paris Winningham – Team Blake – 13.53%
  5. Joshua Vacanti – Team Legend – 7.84%
  6. Hailey Mia – Team Kelly – 5.36%
  7. Wendy Moten – Team Blake – 1.90%
  8. Girl Named Tom – Team Kelly – 0.91%

PREDICTIONS

I made a wild prediction last week, and got the Bottom 3 correct. I’m going to go with my gut again. I may be wrong! But what the heck. Girl Named Tom, Wendy Moten, Hailey Mia, Joshua Vacanti and Lana Scott will move on to next week’s finale. Paris Winningham, Jershika Maple and Jim & Sasha Allen leave the competition.

Results depend on who makes the Top 4 via viewer vote. Lana, Jim & Sasha and Jershika won’t survive the Instant Save. They both HAVE to win America’s Vote to survive. Lana will have enough country fans to keep her safe. Yes, I am going out on a major limb here, and may be wrong. I hope I’m wrong! Also, Hailey Mia has turned into a fan favorite and will win America’s Vote. However, she could survive an Instant Save, depending on song choice and performance order. Joshua Vacanti performed really well in the pimp spot last night. No guarantees at this stage of The Voice game, but he’s well positioned to advance straight to the Top 4 without having to sing for his life.
