It’s week 2 of The Voice season 17 Battle rounds. Check out the Battle pairings for episodes 3 (Oct 21) and episode 4 (Oct 22) below. There are 11 pairings–at least one or two of the performances will be montaged. The Battles continue next week, and end with a “Battles end/Knockouts begin” episode on Monday Oct 28.

Thoughts on the pairings: Matthew McQueen is total canon fodder against Joana Martinez. Ditto Dane & Stephanie vs Marybeth Byrd, with Marybeth the favorite. I kinda hope Kiara Brown and James Violet stick around, but I have a feeling they won’t. The Marina Cello/Ricky Duran matchup is pretty epic. Click the link below for a preview.

The Battle Rounds continue with the help of celebrity mentors. Former Fifth Harmony member and X Factor USA alum Normani will help Team Kelly. Country and pop singer Darius Rucker lends a hand to Team Blake. R&B singer and former The Voice coach Usher assists Team Legend. And Black Eyed Peas member, producer and The Voice UK coach will.i.am joins Team Gwen. Mentors will help the coaches to prepare their artists for a competitive duet.
After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest to move forward to the Knockout Rounds. Here’s a twist: Instead of TWO steals like previous seasons of The Voice, each coach has one save and one steal available during the Battles.
