UPDATE: Chris tells Access Hollywood that he learned of his upcoming departure from Glee on twitter! “Yeah, I found out that they made that announcement. I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year, I knew something like that was coming up eventually.

A source close to the show told Access that the three actors had “no idea” the news was coming.

Immediately after the Emmy nominations were announced this morning, Chris Colfer shared his feelings about his departure from Glee at the end of the upcoming season and his 2nd Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Kurt Hummel.

“I think it was something we all knew was coming, just because Ryan has said from the beginning that people would be graduating, ” Chris tells TV Guide, “It’s definitely not my choice but I absolutely respect it and understand why it has to happen.”
