Scarypoolparty Joins Los Lobos Rose Parade 2020 Finale! (VIDEO)

Alejandro Aranda (Scarypoolparty) Rose Parade 2020

The old guard meets the new! American Idol season 17 runner-up Alejandro Aranda AKA Scarypoolparty performed the fan favorite song, “Out Loud” at the 2020 Rose Parade, broadcast on both NBC and ABC. The singer songwriter shared the stage with the legendary alt rock band, Los Lobos, who performed two Ritchie Valens covers–“Come On Let’s Go” and the title track to the late 1987 film, La Bamba.

Alejandro performed after Los Lobos’ first song, and then joined them on the second. Parade float performances are typically kind of…weird! The performances’ strange quality has nothing to do with the artist. For instance, performing outside on a huge motorized vehicle with Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier hanging out on stage and a high school dance group twirling about–well, it’s a little surreal!

Still, how cool is it that Alejandro got to share the stage with Los Lobos, who were Hispanic alt rock heroes in the 80’s? Could Alejandro follow in the legendary band’s footsteps? Watch out for the 2020s!
