Sales – Week Ending 10/11/2018

With 75% Reports in, the Soundtrack from the new version of “A Star Is Born” is topping the charts. Who would have guessed that Rocket the Racoon would have the number one album? Okay, Gaga is the main draw, but good for Bradley Cooper. “The Greatest Showman” album has legs for months and at 27th on the chart, it features Loren Allred. Lauren Daigle continues to sell well with her Christian album at 24th. Finally, we have Kelly Clarkson featured on Dan + Shay’s album at 40th.

In other news, Carrie Underwood is not on the chart. Her albums usually have more staying power. Has it been too long between albums? Is this album just not connecting? Is her new label not marketing her well? If they can get her some radio hits, this album could surge back up the charts. Today’s album market is pretty grim, though, so maybe this is just a sign of the times. Country music doesn’t get the big streaming numbers and nobody is buying albums.
