American Idol alum Lauren Alaina announced birth of baby girl

American Idol season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina revealed exciting news. She and her husband, Cam Arnold, announced the birth of their daughter Beni Doll Arnold. The baby was born on Wednesday (June 11) at 7 lbs 13 oz. 19 inches long, Lauren wrote in a social media post.

“The right words are hard to find to describe how parts of my heart that I didn’t even knew existed were unlocked at 8:44 am when they laid you on my belly for the first time,” Lauren wrote alongside a gallery of photos “I will never be the same. You, to your dad and me, are absolute perfection. We are honored God chose us to be your parents.”

Additionally, Lauren dropped “a little surprise” for her fans. “To celebrate the most precious miracle on Earth I have decided to release a song I wrote about my daughter. We learned she was coming in a time of deep sadness after the loss of my daddy.” Lauren continued, ” I wasn’t sure when I would share Heaven Sent but watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now.”

Bittersweet, Lauren lost her father last July

“She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it. Beni’s daddy. My sweet and steady husband. Beni truly is a gift from God that my old man sitting up there in Heaven Sent. It’s out now everywhere.”

The country singer’s father, J.J. Suddeth died suddenly last July 24. “We lost my daddy last night, and I really don’t have words yet,” she wrote on social media.

On Father’s Day, Lauren dedicated posts to both her father and husband. “My first Father’s Day without you. If I could call you up there in Heaven, I would say thank you for sending me my little girl,” Lauren wrote alongside photos and videos of happy times with her father. “Until I can actually talk to you again, I will remember laughing with you, singing with you, fishing with you and throwing you a pinky. Love you, dad.”
