America’s Got Talent 2025 Audition: Mama Duke impresses the panel with her original rap song
Mama Duke describes herself as a “late bloomer.” In a new early release from Tuesday’s America’s Got Talent audition episode (June 17), the singer-songwriter explained that she’s auditioning for AGT to prove to herself that “it’s time.” She added, “For me, this is it. And I want it more than anything.”
The Austin, Texas native explained that she’s got many jobs to support her musical dreams. Mama has worked as a Barista, a photographer, and currently at the YMCA where she works with kids.
Mama performed a song she composed herself titled “Feels So Good,” that featured her singing alongside rap breaks. She included lines about Simon Cowell and the rest of the panel. Always smart to appeal to his ego. The verse is catchy enough!
Afterward, the panel were on their feet. Mel B. said, “That’s already a hit! Your confidence, your swagger, I just love you.” Sofia Vergara “just wanted to dance and enjoy you.” She added, “It was amazing. Your voice was spectacular.”
“We haven’t heard anyone like you this year. I like you.”
Simon observed, “You’ve got a great personality, you’re a great writer and you’re also very smart.” Simon explained, “Sometimes people come on here with just backing tracks. But you came prepped. We haven’t heard anyone like you this year. I like you.”

It was a YES from Howie Mandel and the rest of the panel. “It feels good to be me to say four yeses,” said Simon, adapting a lyric from Mama Duke’s song. Four yeses means the performer has a shot at competing on the Live Shows, starting in August.
America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT, streaming on Peacock next day.
