E Online has sources who report that Mariah Carey is in negotiations with FOX for a judge’s seat.
“She wants it, ” says the source. “She’s seen what America’s Got Talent has done for [hubby Nick Cannon] and thinks it will be a good career move.”
The source says “several sticking points reamain” but FOX is optimistic they will make a deal with Carey.
Why so bullish on Carey? As Randy Jackson has reminded us as often as possible, he and Mariah are BFFs, so the chemistry is there.
The plan is to have Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Mariah Carey, with a possible alternating guest judge’s chair. And although Nigel prefers a 3-judges panel, it’s all going to depend on how the remaining negotiations pan out.
Zzzzzz. I’m having a hard time believing this latest bit of gossip for two reasons: 1. That Mariah is ready to admit over-the-hill status. Let’s face it–the job is for an entertainer on the downslide of their peak 2. Also, that she’d have fewer demands for money, perks etc. than J. Lo. I’m just sayin…
