TMZ cornered Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock at LAX on Tuesday. And as far as he’s concerned, the judge in their divorce case has not ruled on who gets the Montana ranch.
When Kelly separated from him in 2020, the two were living in a one room cabin at the ranch with their children. Reportedly, Brandon is no longer managing entertainment acts, including Blake Shelton, and is a full time rancher. (Watch the interview with Brandon at TMZ).
Brandon contested the prenup he signed before marrying Kelly in 2013, believing that everything he and Kelly earned during their marriage, and things acquired with those earnings, would be community property. However, in a recent ruling, a judge upheld the original prenup. Kelly’s earnings are hers, and hers alone, including the Montana ranch.

According to the judge’s order, which he signed Sept. 30, the judge specifically rejected Brandon’s claims, saying, “The Court therefore rejects Respondent’s [Brandon’s] position that the Montana Ranch and other Montana properties are marital property owned 50/50 by the Parties.”
Kelly wants Brandon OFF the ranch
TMZ reports that Kelly is trying to get Brandon to leave the ranch, but so far he is resisting. A source with direct knowledge tells TMZ that at this point, Kelly views Brandon as a squatter and is figuring out how to remove him from the premises.
Kelly requested that the divorce become final, including reverting back to her maiden name, before the property and custody issues are completely ironed out. On August 3, a judge ruled Kelly and Brandon officially divorced.
The American Idol OG winner earned far more a month than Brandon did during their marriage. For instance, she earns a huge salary from her gig as a The Voice coach, afternoon talk show host, and more. According to TMZ she made more than $1.5 million a month, while Brandon only brought in about $10k.
