Here is some shocking news. After nearly 7 years of marriage, Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock are splitting up.
The singer filed divorce documents exactly one week ago in Los Angeles County Superior Court, reports TMZ. Brandon is her talent manager and executive producer on her afternoon talker, The Kelly Clarkson Show. The two got married in October 2013 in Blackberry Farms, Tennessee and have 2 children together, including River Rose (5) and Remington (4). Brandon has two children from a previous relationship.
Kelly states in the filing document that she wants joint custody of their children, and also wants their prenup enforced. She lists the date of separation as TBD.
Kelly’s filing comes a little over a month after the couple put their Los Angeles home on the market for $10 million. They’re also still trying to sell a Nashville mansion that has been on the market for nearly 2 years.
Kelly and Brandon reportedly met in 2012 at Super Bowl XLVI courtesy of Brandon’s dad, Narvel Blackstock, who managed Kelly at the time. The elder Blackstock was married to country star Reba McEntire at the time.
After 10 months of dating, Brandon proposed and Kelly confirmed the news in December 2012 while announcing it to her fans on social media.
The two have been quarantining together on their Montana ranch since the Covid-19 shutdowns began. She mentions Brandon here and there in her remote videos for her talk show. The question is, will they continue to work together professionally after the divorce?

A source tells ET that the former couple, who tied the knot in October 2013, decided to call it quits “after realizing the relationship hasn’t been working for a while.”
“Kelly and Brandon work together non-stop and that became a contention in their relationship,” the source says. “Brandon is the EP of her show as well as her manager. Also, Kelly has always brought up wanting more children, which Brandon doesn’t.”

She’s yet to publicly break her silence on the split, but sources tell E! News exclusively that friends and colleagues of the longtime couple are “shocked.”
“It came out of nowhere,” one insider says. “It’s all so sad for the kids. They were always such a loving family. It never seemed like they had any issues.”
As second insider close to Kelly’s daytime show explains, “Brandon was around all the time on almost all show days and they were very loving towards one another. They drove home from set together every night.”
