Kelly Clarkson unleashes angry “red flag collector” from forthcoming ‘chemistry
Kelly Clarkson has premiered “red flag collector” another track off of her forthcoming tenth studio album chemistry, coming out on June 23rd and available for pre-order now.
Produced by long-time collaborator Jason Halbert, the song arrives alongside a special live video taken from the American Idol OG winner’s one-night-only performance of chemistry last month at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theatre, directed/produced by Weiss Eubanks and Jonny Mars.
In her intro to the song, Kelly shares, “mama was very angry,” adding that during a divorce, “things get said that…you just get caught off guard and you’re like I need to write a song or I’m going to set my house on fire!” She quips, “I feel like the first one’s healthier.”
The songs from her upcoming album Chemistry details her 7 year marriage. Kelly separated from her husband, Brandon Blackstock in 2020. In the aftermath, the two battled over money and property before the divorce became final in 2021.
“red flag collector” marks the fourth release from the 14-track collection on Atlantic records, following last week’s Steve Martin-assisted “i hate love,” upbeat summer banger “favorite kind of high” and double singles “mine” / “me.”
chemistry will drop ahead of an exclusive Las Vegas engagement, chemistry…an intimate night with Kelly Clarkson, opening Friday, July 28, 2023 at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The set will feature an intimate music experience that spans her two-decade long catalog of hits. The Kelly Clarkson Show host will also perform as part of the TODAY Show’s 2023 Citi Summer Concert Series, due to air later this summer on NBC.

Recently, Kelly and a group of singers surprised patrons at a Los Angeles coffee shop.

Then, inside a Blue Bottle coffee shop, Kelly and company sing “me.” Kelly literally ends on a high note. A VERY high note.
And in keeping with the Red Flag trend, Kelly reveals HER romantic red flags They are: 1. A Liar 2. Somebody that projects their own issues on you and 3. Someone who doesn’t have friends.
Chemistry is Kelly’s 10th album
One of the most popular artists of this era, Kelly Clarkson has sold more than 25 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide. The Texas-born singer-songwriter first came to fame in 2002 as the winner of the inaugural season of American Idol and quickly became one of pop’s top singles artists, in addition to the first artist to top each of Billboard’s pop, adult contemporary, country and dance charts.
chemistry marks her tenth studio album and third full-length release with Atlantic Records, following 2017’s Meaning of Life and 2021’s When Christmas Comes Around…. Meanwhile on the small screen, her multi-Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, is preparing for a move to New York City for it’s upcoming 5th season (with the show having already been picked up through 2025).
