Simon’s tease was NOT a rumor.  Well, it’s a confirmed go! According to The Blast, the OG judges filmed a segment on Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show on Wednesday (Sept 11), and will air very soon.

The original American Idol judges–Simon, along with Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson–the crew that helped crown Kelly the first American Idol back in 2002, dropped by for an interview. Also, host Ryan Seacrest joined in on the fun via satellite from New York City where he tapes Live with Kelly & Ryan every weekday.

According to sources in the audience, the highly anticipated segment was shot yesterday on the set of Clarkson’s talk show.

We’re told the crowd went wild when they all came out. They shared stories about time on Idol and caught up. The reunion was the first time in years they have all been together.

Sources tell us Ryan Seacrest also joined the foursome via satellite. The reunion has been in the works for weeks and it will air very soon.

So, there you go. It should be a fun and nostalgic segment. The last time Ryan, Randy, Paula and Simon were together on stage was for the American Idol FOX series finale in March 2016.

Updated: According to Simon, the show will air Wednesday September 18. Mark your calendars! He spoke with Terry Seymour from Extra about the epic reunion:

“That was exciting, that was hilarious. It’s on next Wednesday.” He loved being back with Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson again, saying, “It was almost like we were still doing the show. So weird because you know what it’s like when we got together again.”

“Ryan was on satellite. I told him I flew in from London to be there, he stayed in New York.”

He went on to call the reunion “surreal… you have to remember, it doesn’t feel like all those years ago that we did the finale, so suddenly I’m sitting on her talk show being interviewed by her. She was brilliant, I have to say, really good. She was an absolute natural. She’s incredible.”

Simon praised the singer, who is also a coach on “The Voice,” saying, “She’s very loyal, gets the whole thing about where we started from… I love her and I’m happy for her.”

UPDATE 2: American Idol season 1 runner-up Justin Guarini will also appear on the show, according to a network press release.
