  1. I got the EP the other day, and really love it. I agree the songs are very “Jason”, so good for him! I just hope Atlantic follows through and actually releases the full LP.

  2. great interview…maybe something eliminated idols should watch for inspiration

  3. I like Jason but I usually cringe at his interviews because he often looks uncomfortable or nervous. I have to say he was quite eloquent in much of this interview and elaborated well on his responses to the questions. All in all – he expressed himself quite well.

“Writing a song – like sculpting – start with a block of music – slowly starts to evolve – like there’s song already written in there, you just gotta find it – that’s the fun part.”

  4. Jason was my very favorite last year, voted for him till he got voted off. But I must say those dreads are starting to be unbecoming, if thats a word, LOL, he’s married now and when he has a child, it is so gonna get tangled up in that hair. My son has dreads and hes 40 something, and he goes and teaches at college. I just eekkk when I see him. Jason is nice looking but them things are getting soo long. IDK——-

So I’m safe to watch it? I tend to not watch much because I don’t want to be uncomfortable for him. *skips off to happily watch*

  6. I would like to see him with another hair style, I dont mind the dreads but i think it would be a nice change to cut them

I have seen Jason with the dreads somewhat shorter, so I do believe he trims them. And he does take care of them, as I have heard him say to someone from TMZ who was talking to him and Mandy. This person had asked if he was concerned that they could turn out like Bob Marley’s, in whose hair they had found bugs and such, to which he replied that he kept them clean. And in pictures I have seen him put them up, so they do not always hang in his face. I am sure he will know how to deal with the dreads and kids, :-). He’s got a large family, so I’m sure he’s got cousins, most likely small ones, whom he has held. And he did say, too, that the dreads are not a forever thing. I may miss them should he decide to cut them; but I am about the heart behind the guy, besides his music. The hair is secondary. And I definitely love the eyes, <3.

I hope you come back with your opinion of his interview:) I really was pleased with the depth of his responses regarding the music business, song writing, recording, the evolving of AI singers, ecetera.

  9. Nice. Jason really has come a long way in expressing himself on camera. The heart he puts in his music is what got my interest. Him sharing his thoughts about music and writing in these interviews was a real treat.
Jason without dreads is really hard to picture.

  10. I agree that Jason has become much more eloquent in interviews. He does a good job of expressing what he feels inside when it comes to music. You can tell how very important music is in his life. I really like how positive he is. Even when interviewers give him an opening to say something negative about someone/something, he doesn’t stoop to that but turns it into something positive.

I love his new EP! He chose/wrote songs that are truly Jason. No pretenses. No over-orchestration. The songs are pure and honest, fun and quirky, sweet and beautiful, like Jason. He really has stayed true to himself with this album.

Really looking forward to seeing him in Seattle in February!
