Tonight’s American Idol 13 finale will feature a performance from the judges, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.
The performance was taped last night, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the group will be performing Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way.”
“I know Jen chose ‘True Colors,’ Connick told reporters after the show. “I’m not sure who chose the Fleetwood Mac tune. I think Rickey [Minor] may have picked it.”
Harry told reporters that performing with the judges was “great … after talking about performances for so many months. The only frustrating thing is we didn’t get to do more of it. It was a blast.”
On the Final 2, Harry compared Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene to boxers Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali, calling Caleb the “power puncher…He just came out hitting hard.”
Jena, he said, floats “like a butterfly, stings like a bee. … It’s like a boxer vs. a puncher — it really is. It’s so cool that it came down to those two and I think it’s a matter of preference, really. It’s not a matter of who did better. It’s who do you like more and who is going to vote for their favorite because, boy, it is close, I would imagine.”
So political! Nobody calling a winner at this point.
You know how Keith called the second round a tie? He was a little confused about which finalist sang what when. He now gives the second round (as well as the first round) to Caleb. Shades of Pauler! From FOX Audio Central:

During tonight’s two hour extravaganza broadcasting LIVE from the Nokia theater at 8/7c on FOX, Caleb is set to duet with KISS, Jena will sing with Paramore and 3rd place finisher, Alex Preston, will join forces with Jason Mraz. Demi Lovato will perform with the girls of the Top 13.
Other Top 13 pairings include: Jessica Meuse and Jennifer Nettles. Malaya Watson and John Legend, CJ Harris, Dexter Roberts with Darius Rucker and Sam Woolf and Phillip Phillips. Lady Antebellum (performing “Bartender”) and Aloe Blacc are also set to perform!
