Listen to Lea Michele’s lovely take on The Beatles’ classic “Yesterday”. The full song is from the Glee premiere episode, “Love Love Love.” It’s the first of a two part Beatles’ tribute, airing on FOX September 26.
Lea brings a quiet, dignified poignancy to her performance, and takes on a whole other level of sad remembering that she lost her boyfriend and fellow Glee star, Cory Monteith, in July to a tragic heroin and alcohol overdose.
Rachel doesn’t lose Finn until “The Quarterback”, Episode 3, so it’s unclear what Lea’s character, Rachel, is experiencing at this point in the plot. Maybe the loss of her Broadway role? Or the uncertainty over her future?
