Glee Season 3 Spoilers: Competition for the School Musical and MORE

It’s another edition of Glee Season 3 spoilers! And we’ve got lots of good stuff…some of it confirmation of the tumblr spoilers I’ve posted recently.

First up is last night’s Hollywood Reporter article. THR interviewed the Glee kids attending the FOX Eco Casino party, and managed to get some decent scoop:

  • Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) have both vowed to return to New York. Lea says Rachel will put  “all of her energy” toward returning to New York
  • As reported earlier, Rachel and Mercedes (Amber Riley) will compete for the lead in the school musical (Rumor has it, the musical is West Side Story)
  • All the Glee kids audition…
  • Including Finn (Corey Monteith), Blaine (Darren Criss) and…..Kurt!  (I would say this bit of news is confirmation that Blaine will transfer to McKinley sooner rather than later)
  • Emma (Jayma Mays), Artie (Kevin McHale) and Coach Beiste (Dot Marie Jones) are co-directors, confirming earlier spoilers.
  •  “It wouldn’t be Kurt without a big huge musical number that includes dangerous effects, ” Colfer reveals, “He definitely tries his hardest to persuade them that he can be this role.” (Oh Kurt…if the spoiler about singing “I’m the Greatest Star” from Funny Girl is true…how will that win you the role of Tony? Which leads to…)
  • Chris says, the audition process could see Kurt battling what it means to be typecast. “It’s a really interesting learning process that he goes through, learning that people can’t see him as anything but him.” Aw.

Chris Colfer reveals more to Access Hollywood about that “most dangerous number he’s ever done” from Glee 3×02. It involved “hanging upside down from very very high up…among other things.”

Chris Colfer tells EOnline at the Creative Emmy’s Red Carpet that Kurt will either stay on the show or end up in a spin off. He also reveals Kurt’s future career path “I always felt Kurt would go in one direction, I think this season…we figure out that he’s actually going in another. I always thought that he’d pursue fashion…he actually kinda wants to be a performer. We’ll see where he goes with that.

From EOnline’s Spoiler Chat:

  • Karovsky  (Max Adler) won’t be showing up for a couple of more episodes due to his filming schedule for a movie, and because  Ryan Murphy wants to focus on the original New Directions members for now.
  • Santana (Naya Rivera) will not react well when Rory (Damian McGinty, Glee Project winner) moves into  Brittany’s house. Expect CHEMISTRY between Brittany and Rory.  They will also need a translator.

Speaking of the Glee Project winners, both Lindsay Pearce and Samuel Larsen were in the recording studio yesterday laying down vocals according to tweets from Alex Anders:

Welcomed #TheGleeProject winner @SamuelLarsen to the studio for the first time today! http://yfrog.com/mexfmaj

Just finished up a song with @singlindsay What a great voice!

Alex is brother of music executive producer, Adam Anders, and is a good one to follow for spoilers @alxanders.  Alex also tweeted on Friday that Corey Monteith and Mark Salling were in the studio cutting vocals, “@frankenteen and @Mark_Salling rocked their vocals today. Good times!”

Naya Rivera tweeted today, “Recording two really great songs for Glee right now! Having a blast.”

Iqbal Theba, who plays Principal Figgins tweeted yesterday, “Worked today with @janemarielynch @Matt_Morrison and a very hip looking adamshankman… excellent Ep 304 written by @aliadler .. William!!”
