American Idol’s Francisco Martin latest single “Breakfast for Dinner” is about the power of love

Singer-songwriter Francisco Martin is back with his latest single “Breakfast For Dinner,” a poignant tribute to the unbreakable support and deep connection between two people in a blossoming relationship, out Friday July 7 on all digital platforms.

Showcasing his signature blend of soulful storytelling and captivating melodies, it’s the latest in a series of releases drawn from Francisco’s personal experiences, where soulful vocals and evocative songwriting paint a vivid picture of the profound power of love. “’Breakfast for Dinner’ expresses my feelings towards my partner in crime,” Francisco shares. “Lifting each other up through everything has always been our endgame.”

The release of “Breakfast For Dinner” follows Francisco’s most recent single “Lily,” a pop song about the tug and pull of a relationship on the rocks – when you know it’ll end soon but can’t help but still hold on. “This song started one late, hazy night with my closest friends and family and was finished at the legendary Stupid Youth Studios,” Francisco shared upon its release. “While the song sounds easy-going, the lyrics pull at your heartstrings.”

On being 2 months sober, Francisco writes, “I’m alive and ok…it’s hard but life ain’t ever a walk in the park”

On Instagram, Francisco wrote honestly about his life these past few months. While he shares that two of his songs are on Billboard, “there has been “a whole lot of simply working on myself.” The singer songwriter confesses, “2 months sober, and it’s hard, but life ain’t ever a walk in the park.”

“I’m alive and okay,” he writes. “And after dealing with lots of medical and emotional trauma these last few weeks, I’m happy to continue to put my art out into the world.” He continues, “That’s all we are. Today, now, and in the present…More music to come. Love you guys.”

Francisco notched his first Billboard No 1 as a songwriter

American Idol winner Iam Tongi scored a No. 1 on Billboard with his winners single, an emotional track, “I’ll Be Seeing You,” written by Francisco.

According to Billboard, “I’ll Be Seeing You” charted on the Billboard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1 for the week of June 3. The song bowed with 11,000 downloads sold May 19-25, according to Luminate.

“Breakfast For Dinner” is the latest in a string of releases

“Breakfast for Dinner” and “Lilly” follow “Passenger Princess,” a soulful track that showcased a softer, more sensitive side of Francisco. His EP Manic,’ dealt with mental health issues, relationships, angst, and human disconnection.

Francisco first shot to fame with American Idol season 18 in 2020, where he placed Top 5. From there, he quickly released a few singles before embarking on a fall coast-to-coast tour. To date, Francisco has released several singles, including “Swollen,” which has amassed close to 8 million streams across all DSPs (with 6 million on Spotify). Francisco’s previous single, “If U Need Me,” premiered on PopMatters. He put out his debut EP, ‘Beautiful Ramblings of a Restless Mind,’ in 2021.
