ABC announced today during their TCA Dancing with the Stars panel the first two celebrity cast members as part of the 30th season, gold medal Olympian Suni Lee and pop star JoJo Siwa.

And for the first time, Dancing with the Stars will feature a same sex dancing couple as JoJo will be paired with a female pro. At the session, JoJo commented on breaking boundaries, “I think it’s cool. I think it breaks a wall that’s never been done before. I think it’s really special that I get to share with the world that you can love who you love, but now you can dance with who you want to dance with.”
The 18-year-old came out as LGBTQ in January and later said she identifies as pansexual.

Suni and JoJo will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America for their first sit-down interview tomorrow, AUG. 27, and again when the remaining cast is revealed Wednesday, Sept. 8. The milestone season premiere airs live Monday, Sept. 20 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), when each celebrity finds out which pro dancer is their partner.

Sunisa “Suni” Lee is a three-time Olympic medalist, taking home the gold medal as the all-around champion in women’s gymnastics at the 2020 Olympic Games. Suni is the first Hmong-American gymnast to compete for Team USA.
JoJo Siwa is a singer, television and film star, author and social media star who has over 60.5 million followers on social media and over 3.6 billion views on YouTube. Jo Jo got her start as a member of the Dance Moms cast.
Dancing with the Stars is the hit series in which celebrities perform choreographed dance routines that are judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. Hosted by supermodel and businesswoman Tyra Banks.
