American Idol winner Chayce Beckham releases his first solo single, “Tell Me Twice,” since taking the crown in 2021. Previously, he dropped a duet “Can’t Do Without Me “ with labelmate Lindsay Ell.
“This title was my mom’s idea for me to write, because it was something we had said to each other,” Chayce wrote in an email announcement.
“It made me think about all of the things in life that you should just do and not have to think twice about it. Growing up, I really did learn the value of a dollar because I watched my family work hard for everything we had. This song is a reminder to not take the good things in life for granted and remember to appreciate them.”
“Without thinking I started writing about all the things I’ve learned to love and value as I grew up,” Chayce wrote in an Instagram post, where he explains the cover art. “Simple lessons learned that I still keep with me today. So I figured a old photo of me and my mama would fit best for the cover art, the song was her idea after all!”
Chayce Beckham, Ilsey Juber and Ross Copperman penned the new song, released through Wheelhouse Records/19 Recordings. Copperman, who produced Chayce’s American Idol winner single “23,” helmed “Tell Me Twice” as well.
“Spend your time off with the ones you love and sending up prayers to the man above,” go the lyrics. “They say you know how it goes after every low comes a high, that’s life. You better hold on and hold on tight, but you don’t have to tell me twice.”

Chayce set to appear on American Idol Hollywood Week
Next, Chayce will return to American Idol for Hollywood Week in an episode airing on Monday March 28. The singer joins alums Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Haley Reinhart, and Lauren Alaina to help the contestants through the “Genre Challenge.”
