Yikes. American Idol took a steep fall this week, hitting an all-time series low. Stick a fork in Season 12. It’s dead. All of our shows took a hit this week, including Survivor (another series low) and Nashville (down from it’s last new episode in April).

Both American Idol and Glee were up against new shows this week, and the results aren’t pretty. Idol ratings hit a series low, while Glee’s demo numbers dipped below 2.

A repeat of Big Bang beat American Idol in the ratings this week. Yikes. However, Idol ran over a couple of minutes and will probably be adjusted up. Still, that the ratings are even close is not a good thing.

FYI: The TVByTheNumbers chart comes from a Nielsen press release, and I do believe the viewer data for Idol is incorrect. The half hour breakdown numbers from Marc Berman are more like it.

Glee ratings are down from last week’s school shooting episode.
