America’s Got Talent 2017 Semi Finals 2 Recap
After the typical lengthy recap, Tyra announces that the acts that came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd will go straight through to the final. 5. Those that come in 4th, 5th and 6th will vie for the Dunkin Save.
All 11 acts are on stage. Who is in the Dunkin Save? Colin Cloud, Diavolo and Kechi! Ugh. Diavolo doesn’t belong there. I am not entirely surprised about Kechi–she did not deliver her best performance last night. The competition between singers is fierce. Dunkin Save is open for the next 30 minutes. Vote at NBC.com
Back from break: Kechi is ahead at 40%. Time for that product-placement Dunkin Save video package. Blah blah.
After, it’s time to announce some results. Christian Guardino, Merrick Hannah and Angelica Hale step forward. The first act moving on to the final is…Angelica Hale! No surprises here. Bye boys. “I’m feeling so overwhelmed right now,” cries 10 year old Angelica.
Next, Celine Tam, Mandy Harvey and the Pompeo Family step forward. America has voted. The next act going into the finals is…Mandy Harvey. I hope Celine is OK. Her parents seemed really invested in her success too. Mandy is tearful, thankful. She’s happy, but sad for the acts not advancing. Simon is thrilled for the success of his golden buzzer act.
The next bit features a Las Vegas act called Absinthe. I’m not sure what this is But Ok.

Some kind of comedy act that involves nearly naked guys doing incredibly difficult looking feats of strength and daring. Toilet paper tossing and tap dancing is next. And don’t forget gymnastics involving a bathtub. Plus balloons! And juggling.

Time to waste some time. A video clip has Tyra overseeing an AGT watch party of young fans. They love them some Joku the piano playing chicken. Simon drops in and the kids take him to task for his rude buzzing by dumping popcorn on his head.

The next result! Light Balance and In The Stairwell step forward. The act going into next week’s finals is…Light Balance. Good result.

Lastly, it’s time to announce the winner of the Dunkin’ Save vote. Colin Cloud, Diavolo and Kechi take the stage. Based on the live vote, the act going into next week’s final is…Kechi! The judges choose the next act–either Diavolo or Colin Cloud.
