American Idol’s Hunter Metts and Francisco Martin will hit the Road Together

Two American Idol alums from different seasons are joining forces for a tour this coming fall. Season 19 finalist Hunter Metts will join season 19 finalist Francisco Martin on his “Beautiful Ramblings of a Restless Mind” tour.

“I said I had a big announcement and here it is…” wrote Francisco on Instagram. “My good friend @hunterjmetts will be joining me on my first ever tour this fall.” Francisco proceeds to joke-meme “We’ve spent a lot of time together over the years (swipe right for some of our favorite moments traveling together including this amazing experience where we worked as professional chefs together and got yelled at by Gordon Ramsay)”

Francisco is “pumped to be sharing the stage with this outstanding musician. Literally one of my favorite people to work with. You heard it here first folks. Get your tickets NOW!”

The tour kicks off on October 20 in Sacramento, Calif. and ends on November 13 in San Antonio, Texas. Check out tour dates and ticket information HERE.

Francisco and Hunter did a little songwriting together

Although the two singers competed on different seasons, and Francisco did not participate in the season 19 Comeback competition, which featured many of his fellow semifinalists, the two have gotten to know each other. Francisco lives in Los Angeles, but makes frequent trips to Nashville to participate in songwriting sessions. In a q&a video recorded while Francisco was on a songwriting trip back in July,  he talks about writing a song with Hunter, which they have not finished yet.

“So thankful to be out on the road for my very first tour this fall,” Francisco wrote on Twitter. “I grew up playing live music and haven’t been able to do so for the past year and a half. Get your tickets now before they’re all gone!”

After Francisco’s season ended in 2020, American Idol’s recording arm, 19 Recordings, signed him to a deal. In May 2021, the San Francisco singer-songwriter released a 6 song EP Beautiful Ramblings of a Restless Mind, that include several official music videos and acoustic versions. Hunter close to releasing music as an independent artist

Hunter is currently working as an independent artist, but has been busy writing and recording music, which he plans on releasing soon.  He wrote the new songs with friends in a Tennessee cabin. “I write songs. I’ve written songs for so long, and so we chose our favorites,” Hunter told Everything Nash in a recent interview. “We went to the cabin and we recorded them.” Hunter added that the songs are “being finalized.”

Meanwhile, Hunter just finished playing two sold out shows in his hometown, Franklin, Tennessee. Two sold out shows (Aug 8 & Aug 15) at the Franklin Theater in his hometown, Franklin, Tenn. The first show sold out in 90 minutes.
