American Idol 2021 winner Chayce Beckham returned triumphantly to Apple Valley, California to perform for a hometown crowd on Saturday June 4. The town dedicated a day to the singer, and even named a road after him.
“In my wildest dreams I couldn’t imagine what happened yesterday,” Chayce wrote on Instagram. “To get my own day dedicated to me, and to get a road in my hometown named after me, (just like Roy Rogers) I can’t even begin to explain my gratitude and thanks to my hometown for the love and support they have shown me throughout this journey. I’m truly speechless, humbled and in awe. What a great day. Thank you @applevalleyca.”
The Boots in the Desert concert took place at the Lenny Brewster Sports Center. Fellow season 19 alum, Hunter Metts opened for the country singer. B OK Live Band and The Silverados also performed.
Chayce wrote the message alongside a gallery of photos which features Chayce shaking hands with a townsperson, holding up his new street sign, “Chayce Beckham Road,” and greeting fans on the sidelines.

After a busy year recording and touring, Chayce finally had a minute to visit home
After winning American Idol a year ago, Chayce signed a record deal with BBR Music/19 Recordings and moved to Nashville to record and write tracks.
“I learned that nothing is handed to you after you win a TV show,” he told Forbes magazine in an interview. “You still have to go out there and work your butt off. You come out on top, but you also come out at the bottom of the ranks of everybody else who’s actually doing this for a career.”
