Winning American Idol has a ton of perks. Besides the opportunity to release an album on a major label, there are also the freebies.
By now, fans know how much current Idol winner, Chayce Beckham LOVES FISHING. He appears to love fishing almost as much as he does making music. That’s why, thanks to his sudden fame, the singer-songwriter just acquired the fishing boat of his dreams.
“Huge thanks to the good people at @bassproshops and @trackerboats for getting me set up with this ProTeam 175 TXW Tournament Edition bass boat?” Chayce wrote on Instagram. “If you know me you know I’m addicted to fishin so this is exactly what I needed to keep me busy/ out of trouble when I’m not workin or touring.” Chayce continued, “I’ve wanted a boat like this for years but never thought it would be possible. This is a huge accomplishment for me as a fisherman, and just as a man in general. I’ve waited a long time for this, and I’m so very grateful.”

The folks at Bass Pro Shops surely noticed Chayce’s fishing chronicles on social media. Which is probably why they set him up with a sweet, sweet deal on a new boat. So, expect even more fishing chronicles from the singer, who recently moved to Nashville, Tenn to record his post-American Idol debut album.

“I thought it was like a new car…it comes filled up with gas.”
Chayce also posted a bunch of clips on Instagram stories that start with his acquiring the boat, heading out on the water, realizing he had no gas (oops), waiting for the station to open, and then finally…Success!
“I’m losing my mind,” Chayce gushes as he shows off his new boat. ‘It’s got everything I’ve ever wanted on it…I’m feeling like a little kid right now!”
Eventually, Chayce gets the boat out on the lake. But whoops. “I noticed pretty soon when I turned the boat on and I was moving a little bit that there’s no gas in it,” Chayce admitted, “I thought it was like a new car…it comes filled up with gas. I guess they don’t do that with boats.” Chayce hung out til 9 am, waiting for the gas station to open. And finally, the last image in his stories is a video with the caption, “Got her filled up!” as he speeds away.
