American Idol Ratings Stay Fairly Steady for Live Coast to Coast Episode

AMERICAN IDOL - "214 (Disney Night)" - (ABC/Eric McCandless) RYAN SEACREST, MICKEY MOUSE, LIONEL RICHIE, DONALD DUCK, KATY PERRY, PLUTO, LUKE BRYAN, MINNIE MOUSE

American Idol aired its first live coast to coast episode of the season on Easter Sunday (April 21). The show’s ratings dipped 1/10th of a point–from a 1.3 in the key 18-49 demo last week to a 1.2 this week. NBC’s World of Dance continued its steady pace at 0.7. American Idol, featuring the Top 10 singing songs from the Disney catalog, topped the night for ABC.

Considering that American Idol aired live across all time zones, and then repeated on the west coast at 8 pm, there may be adjustments when the final Nielsen numbers are released this afternoon or tomorrow, so watch for that.

UPDATE: American Idol did adjust up in the final ratings update. With the adjustment, Idol wins the night in both ratings and viewers (now surpassing Motown 60).
